Adoption Information and Prices
My prices are lower then most pet stores, I like to keep it this way to ensure my babies find homes as well as keeping people from supporting rodent mills and pet stores. I also don't charge anything over $40 for a single rat as I think it is too high of a price, while prices do also depend on what was put into that line. I will do discounts often and work with clients for payment plans before babies are sold. (Please note F is for Female and M is for Male)
Prices can and will be subject to change any time, this list may not be accurate so please ask!
Pricing:
Standard/Fancy's: $15 F - $10 M (Rarely Work with not many Available)
Dumbo ear: $20 F - $20 M (Often or always have Available)
Rex: $25 F - $25 M (Often have planned for every 2-4 months)
Rex Dumbo: $30 F - $30 M (Often a 50/50 chance in our rex litters)
As a type of guarantee adoption I ask for a 50% deposit, I ask this due to the amount of people who back out of sale/adoptions last minute. My babies come with a 10 day return offer. I often will change the prices for babies with unique colouring or pattern, please just ask to insure the price of the babies you pick
My babies come with a lot of information as well! The babies come with a birth certificate, pedigree/family tree, care sheet, recommended item's, Health information and can send recommended medication as well as links on places to buy/have it shipped.
All rats are Positive for Mycoplasma, sadly they are born with it. When a mother has it and gives birth, it is passed on from the mother to babies then and there is no way to stop the passing of this Bacteria. Lucky, it is treatable with many medication's!
I'm not a Fully "Closed" Rattery, I allow client's to visit my home and view babies.
Being a Semi-closed Rattery:
Jazzed Up Rattery is not a completely "Closed Rattery". At a closed rattery, they never allow anyone into their rattery at any time, for any reason, and insist on meeting adopters at another location. This may be a concern of having strangers know where they live, which in these times can be a legitimate one, but it is usually because they are genuinely afraid of illness being brought into their rattery. In fact, when proper precautions are taken, I believe the chances of a virus being brought in are virtually nonexistent. This is just my opinion of course, but I would be very suspicious of some people who keep a "Closed Rattery". At the other end of the scale, we sometimes have people concerned by Closed Rattery's simply because they may have something they don't want you to see (in fact I know some of them do!) Here at Jazzed Up Rattery, we try to walk a fine line somewhere in between a closed rattery and one that is at all times wide open to everyone... everything in moderation is the best.
I have a few terms to this:
If you have rats or work with rats or other rodents please let me know, this means special accommodation must be made if you want to see the animals before adoption. While I know handling and seeing animals is key to adoption I do take my animals health very seriously.
No clients with rats or have had rats in the past month are allowed into the rattery room or on the rattery Floor.
No clients that have handled rats from a pet store or other breeder with in the past 2 days are able to come into the rattery or on the rattery Floor.
No Breeders or other Rattery Members are allowed in the rattery room period. This is because of the SDA possibility, I will however give a full and detailed Skype call showing the rattery to it's full extent. I also have video's and photos on our rattery Facebook account and Facebook page.
All clients must wash and sanitize hands and forearms before and after entering the rattery or holding any babies (Over the age of 3 weeks)
All clients must follow any instruction while visiting myself, this is to insure the safely of both my animals and you.
All babies for viewing will be placed into my viewing room, I don't allow members to touch or handle any rats in the rattery room. However I do allow clients to stand at the door and look in, and if the client does not have rats or been in contact with other rats with in 2 weeks you maybe allowed into the rattery room.
